What about Certification?
Ella walk-in tubs are ETL certified for North American market. ETL Testing Laboratories is recognized by OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), just like the UL & CSA. Ella’s walk-in tubs are equipped with UL certified water and air pumps.
How Does The Water-Tight Door Work?
All Ella walk in tubs are designed with a leak-proof door seal system that is compressed by latching the door. The rubber seal is pressurized by setting the door locking arm into place. Additionally, the weight of water inside the tub further compresses the door seal making it completely leak proof. We have so much confidence in our seal, we guarantee it for life to the original owner.
Which Walk In Tub Is Better, Fiberglass Or Acrylic?
The acrylic material is used in higher-end walk-in bathtubs. While fiberglass is more inexpensive, its reliability over time is less than acceptable. Many of the fiberglass units available today will have bowed and warped in just a few years from normal usage. When you want to contain 500 pounds of water, you should certainly choose the stronger material available. Our Ella’s walk-in tubs are made from the highest quality grade-A cast acrylic sheet. The acrylic shell’s surface is a scratch resistant, high-gloss finish, and very easy to clean. Fiberglass gel coat materials are factory spray painted and the quality of finish varies. We source only the highest quality materials so that we can offer the best walk in tubs on the market and assure reliability for years to come.

We can help you to locate reliable, licensed contractors in your area. Ella’s has a network of contractors nationwide with experience installing our products and a track record so we know who we’re sending.  Feel free to call and ask us questions regarding installation.
How Do I Install The Walk In Tub and How Much It Will Cost?
The cost of installation will vary by location depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. It is very important to have an on-site estimate before booking an installation. Any of the walk-in tubs should be installed by licensed plumbers or general contractors. Our tubs come in right hand/left hand models and each of our walk-in baths ship with extension hoses and panels to accommodate any bathroom layout.
What size and type water heater do I need?
A boiler or a tankless water heater is ideal because it never runs out of hot water. We recommend using a 60 gallon or larger gas water heater because they have more capacity and will regenerate much faster than electric units.
If I have a small or an electric water heater what can I do to ensure I have plenty of hot water?
A separate designated in-line electric tankless water heater can be installed that will help your water heater provide plenty of hot water. These units can be found for a few hundred dollars. This is also a great solution if you do not have the option to use gas.
How long does it take to fill the tub?
It takes about 10 minutes to fill the tub to a level (1-2 inches above the hydro jet assembly) where it is safe to use the hydro jets and keep it circulating past the inline water heater housed in the pump. This allows you to enjoy the tub while it finishes filling, which only takes another 5 minutes. These times will vary depending on your water pressure. If you have well water and your pump and pressure tank are correctly adjusted you will be able to maximize the full potential of our high flow thermostatic control valve. If you have city water your pressure depends on how far from the water tower you are located and the elevation difference between your house and the tower.
I have water pressure issues, is there anything I can do to increase it?
Yes, you can install a water pressure booster pump which will increase the water pressure throughout your entire house.
I don’t want to be cold while I sit in the tub as it is filling, what can I do?
Ella’s Bubbles massaging tubs come with two water diverters (one for the hand mixer and one for the spout) which allow you to enjoy the warm water from the pull out hand mixer as the spout is filling the tub. These diverters can be used independently or simultaneously.
Will the in-line water heater heat cold water?
The 1.5kw inline water heater is designed to maintain the water temperature not to heat cold water.
What does the built-in inline water heater do?
The inline water heater maintains the water temperature and counteracts the temperature loss which would otherwise drop the water temperature as you use the air jets. Without an inline water heater the water temperature would drop when using the air jets because it is pulling in the ambient air at room temperature which is cooler than the water.
